I bought a brand new 1+ 7 pro for $1000 CAD from Amazon suggested by one of my friends and I tell you all cons and pros compare to my $500 CAD Motorola G 5G plus that I bought right after I sold my 7 pro and my 2 Android Sony I have been using for 4 years:
Pros, great quality screen, launching apps in no time, onscreen fingerprint unlock.
Cons, camera pops up every now and then by it's own even after 3 software upates. Never was able to see a full screen video on YouTube, When you on a call with someone and need to check something else on your phone ,going back to the same call is impossible unless you know where exactly you were, no active icon for the ongoin call. Significantly weak speakers even with 2 speakers as an stereo, no matter you are on a call or watchin a video on YouTube. Bluetooth and Wireless are not smart at all on this device, when it's connected to my car BT and I leave my car for 30 min for shopping, going back to the same app was running was almost impossible or I had to re-pair most of the time or push my car BT or my phone BT to get it connected. Takes time to hook up to home WiFi which it does everyday! Whenever I wanted to charge my phone I had to push in and pull out the charger 3 or 4 times to see it's actually starts charging! Never works the first time! Battery life is disgusting, good for one day with smooth using, no game or video watching or excessive usage! LTE is not really LTE, it shows 4G which was never more than 50Mbps whenever I did speed test, on my Motorola LTE with the same SimCard is now 90Mbps!
When you rotate your phone to have a bigger keyboard in horizontal mode there is no arrow like other phones to pull down the keyboard to see what's behind on that page or browser so you can double check what you are typing on the back so you have to turn it back to vertical mode every single time to check which it completely waste of time and doesn't make sense to me. I am 50 years old IT and this review is not biased at all, I've been using cell phones for more than 20 years. This phone doesn't worth more than $300 CAD if you ask me, I just don't understand how it could get to the US market.

Waste of money,
I ordered the phone and after 10 minutes i called back to update with a new one and they told me to cancel the order and buying the other on. They never canceled and shipped to me both of them and to return it was almost impossible so I kept for my husband, but since day one it was with problem almost after every phone call I had to turn off and recall because I couldn't hear.
Now I asked them to return because it's not working and now I need to turn off more than once.
They respond it's "try to clean caches or hard reset"
I made a big mistake if you read this do not do the same because in they vocabulary it doesn't exist the word refund
Very disappointed and I will never change the iPhone or Samsung anymore.

I have been a loyal customer of OnePlus…

I have been a loyal customer of OnePlus for many years. Not only do i use the phones but my company does as well. I recently upgraded to the OnePlus 9 and although not overly impressed at the lack of improvements, it is still a good phone for the price. However, where OnePlus are falling down is the customer service. I sent one of my phones in for repair and 10 days later, nothing has been done. I was on the phone for 1/2 hour (for the second time) to OnePlus to find out what was going on. As usual, outside of UK call centre. Guy was not particularly helpful, blaming everyone but OnePlus. Finally (after several attempts) he managed to send me a quotation link for the repair. Not really interested in my annoyance at the 10 day delay. OnePlus need to get their customer service an IT sorted if they hope to grow in the marketplace. There is too much serious completion for them to have such appalling customer service.

I have attempted to resolve my issue…

I have attempted to resolve my issue with this customer service team now for over 2 months. Over 10 support inquiries and 90 days later and still nothing.
Purchased Oneplus 8 Pro and having screen glitch issues, brightness issues, random shutoffs. Customer service keeps saying please be patient but nothing get solved. Phone needs to be replaced. They ask me to wait for technical support to contact me - and when they do it is at odd times (4am to 6am) or it takes 15-25 says to receive response.
Previous owner of Oneplus 6 and now 8. Not sure what to do as I have tried to get this resolved to no avail. Want my phone replaced as it's under warranty. Keep having to explain myself over and over again - I could write a 10 page review on my experience if I had to. I have screenshots of all conversations with technical support telling me to be patient and someone will get back to me on specific dates and they never do. Getting very fed up.
**update - got a hold of one plus over the phone. They said they can put in a repair request which will take a week leaving me with no phone for that week (I run a business). I am inclined to say if this was apple (actually I know) or Samsung they would have sent me a loaner or new phone at this point. Don't bother paying these kind of prices for a phone when they cannot offer you anything when things do go wrong.

OnePlus Refund Process - All OK for me!

I recently purchased a OnePlus 8T directly from the OnePlus website. Unfortunately, although there was nothing wrong with the device itself, I found it too large for me to use comfortably so initiated a returns process for a refund under their 15 day guarantee applicable here in the UK.
Despite all that I read online about how bad the company are at this side of things, I wanted to post my own experience for balance as I had no issues.
The return was approved automatically, I was emailed a pre-paid Tracked 24 label to attach to the package and it duly reached OnePlus on the next working day. It was delivered about 730am, and by 2pm the same day I received an email confirming the refund would be processed shortly. About half an hour later, Paypal confirmed the refund as complete.
Quick, efficient and issue-free. I was quite concerned prior to sending after reading all the problems some customers have had, but all I can post is that it's not always like that, as my experience should hopefully show.

Do this in english since it looks like…

Do this in english since it looks like Oneplus just thanks everyone regardless of how bad the review is. So i bought the N100 in January and now s month later it already starts to bug out. I have to restart the phone once every other day since the music starts playing faster. This is regardless if I play s song on YouTube Premium, Spotify or a player to play mp3 files on Android. The music plays a bit faster than its supposed to so the singers sounds like chip monks. That is weird and problematic so early after i bought the phone. Besides that Google Chrome tends to freeze up from time to time and finally the dictionary in the text messages are just plain horrible. That being said (and that's a lot!) pretty ok phone thinking of the price. Wouldn't recommend Oneplus to others than my enemies

November 16, 2020

Purchase Date: November 16, 2020
Payment: $1015.87 CAD
Order Number: A112011163631867963
Requested On: Nov 26, 2020 Request Number: RA1201127363492213 Service Type: Return (Cancelled by Oneplus without notice me)
I am really disappointed with OnePlus Support Team service.
I purchased OnePlus 8 online and got the shippment on Nov. 20, 2020.
After a few days usage, find out the WIFI connection sucks (connect then disconnect frequently) and phone call to someone sucks (someone can hear me but I can't hear them). So I decided to return the phone back to Oneplus.
Oneplus sent me a FedEx prepaid shipping label on Nov. 28, 2020 so I packed the phone then shipped it to the service centre on Nov. 30, 2020.
On Dec. 21, 2020, after more than three weeks, I got an email from Oneplus Support team and told me my phone needs to be repaired because of back cover scratched. So I replied the email with questions: how much for repairing the damage and how much I can get back after fixing the issue, emails back and forth for a few weeks (even one of 12 Advisors from Oneplus involved with my issue).
Finally I got the quotation for repairing $87 plus 13% HST in Canada. Then I chatted with a Oneplus lady yesterday (Jan. 21, 2021) with my situation and asked her how much I will get back after returning the phone and she promised me I would get the information back within 24 hours.
NOBODY TELLS ME ONEPLUS RETURN POLICY IS 15 DAYS AFTER RECEIVING THEIR PHONE so far, it doesn't matter whatever reason.
Today I tried to chat with Support team lady and she told me it's over 15 days so I CAN'T return the phone, after even talked to her supervisor and still said NO for returning the phone.
HELLO ONEPLUS, who delays the whole process, it's you, Oneplus, your Support team perssonel, NOT ME. Why should I take the result with mistake make by your staffs.
Right now I suspect Oneplus Support team staffs delays the process in purpose.
I NEED ONEPLUS TO EXPLAIN TO ME WHY THIS SITUATION HAPPED TO ME!!!
For the chatted histories yesterday and today, there is no way to save them through Oneplus website but I have all the emails back and forth between your Support Team staffs and myself.
The most update for my status: two days ago, I got the phone shipped back to me without fixing anything because one of Oneplus L2 Advisor told me that Oneplus won't fix the WIFI connection issue and calling issue I mentioned before, because I don't agree to fix the back cover scratch first (it will cause me $87 + HST). See how rediculous Oneplus is.
By the way, I sent the emails, between Oneplus Support Team staffs and myself, to OnePlus CEO Mr. Pete Lau, no reply at all. Whatelse you can do !!!
If the review allow minus number, oneplus will be minus unlimited in my mind. After over 3 months, nothing fixed.
I advice anyone who is thinking to buy Oneplus products, think, think, and think again. If the quality is ok, good luck. Otherwise you will be in hell. You will waste your money, time, and get no service at all.

Worst service "Ever"

I just hate this company's service, OMG they kept my phone at the service center for 7 days for just replacing the mic board and then i got a response that the extend warranty which i claimed has been taking time, but the truth is that i have uploaded the original invoice which came with the phone and the support team just claims that the invoice has wrong values in it and never mentions which value was that. Further, the service center POC's never took the responsibility of looking into the case and closing it, on repeated asking and calling to the service center, they kept saying they do not know the reason and extended. I am really really disappointed with the way these guys are working and the lethargic services they provide. Never ever thought a company like One Plus would work in a highly unprofessional manner. Overall, My feeling is that these guys purposely extend the service period if claimed via warranty just to make us not wanting to claim warranty the next time, it has been a tough week for me without my phone as I have my data in it. despite of me highlighting that my phone is important for my work these guys never cared for it. I would never ever suggest "One Plus" to anyone. Very Very Disappointed.
These guys are just bluffing us here, it's been 5 days they replied to my review and none of them actually approached me to understand the problem...

Absolutely disgraceful service

If there were ways to remove stars, I would.
This company's service is beyond shocking.
Ordered handset on 15th Nov, told delivery would be 17th then 18th!
Guess what? No phone arrived and then a different story from every advisor when we tried to find out what was going on. Basically excuse after excuse with no tracking, no way of cancelling order and no way of knowing, even inside their own Organisation, what on earth is going on.
The most frustrating company I've ever had the misfortune of encountering!
No phone, no refund and no idea when things will be sorted.
Do not use! Avoid completely

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service, the worst I have ever experienced. I had to pay wrongly charged custom fees with the promise that I was going to be reimbursed. I submitted the proof of payment and documentation. After 3 months I have not received any refund.

Oneplus used to be good, but no more

Oneplus used to produce decent mid to high range phones at affordable prices. But now they are just churning out mediocre phones that are no better than their rivals and in most cases higher prices. It seems they have lost their way in this respect. Furthermore they don't deliver on their promises of software updates and many previous customers won't be future customers. This is all to true with the current 5/5t debacle that had an android 10 rollout that has left users with pretty much unusable phones. They are basically ignoring these customers and offering no resolution and to compound things even more there are no security updates since April. Shame as the company ethos was once sound, but alas no more.
* extra* And features are also removed from devices without explanation. I notice Oneplus has taken the time to reply here, fair enough, but shame they don't bother replying in the oneplus community forum to update their existing customers!

Support is a nightmare - Do not buy OnePlus

Support is a nightmare. Trying to get my device replaced or fixed because I recognized an obvious software error which cannot be solved by resetting to factory settings or updating to newest version, so I think it is based on an hardware problem - I'm in constant contact with support since 3-4 month now. Griffin Blake is the only guy in german support and trying to make it as hard as possible for you as a customer.
This was the last time I bought OnePlus. As long as everything is working you'll be fine. But if not you're in huge trouble.
I can just recommend anyone to switch to another brand with better customer support.
####
EDIT (Dec. 2020) after reply of OnePlus: Experience got even worse! If I would be able to give minus stars in this rating I would do it. Someone new from OnePlus contacted me, asked for the exact same things (IMEI etc.) as I already gave them like 5-6 times. Then there was no response for a week and then the final reply: "We understand your issue. We apologies for late response. Hope the process is completed and the issue has been resolved by now." without doing nothing. Really driving me crazy...
